Dr Claire Gallien

Dr Claire Gallien is Lecturer in the Department of English at University Montpellier 3 and works for the Research Institute on the Renaissance, the Early-Modern Period and the Enlightenment (IRCL, UMR 5186). Her research interests are in seventeenth and eighteenth century Orientalism, travel literature, and cultural transfer between Europe and the ‘East’. She is also interested in Arab, Pakistani and Indian literatures in English, and in postcolonial literatures and theory more generally.
