Dr Eva Johanna Holmberg

evaDr Eva Johanna Holmberg is a cultural historian, university researcher and currently a fellow of Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies (2013-2016). Her research interests range from perceptions of religious, social and ethnic difference to travel writing and cross-cultural encounters in the early modern period. She is the author of Jews in the Early Modern English Imagination – A Scattered Nation (2012) and is writing a new monograph on British perceptions of ethnic and religious identities in the Levant. Her new research project investigates experiences and practices of travel in the early modern period.
